Title: Posting Public Notices Online
Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that requires state public notices to be posted in a newspaper and on a website established collectively by Utah's newspapers beginning January 1, 2010, and requires first and second class counties to publish notices on the same website beginning January 1, 2012.
- Authorizes first and second class counties to publish notices in a newspaper, in addition to posting them on the website as required by this Act (Sec. 140).
- Specifies that the notices affected by this Act include legal notices required for judicial proceedings or by judicial decision, and notices required to be made available to the public by a state statute or a state agency rule (Sec. 140).
- Prohibits the administering of a fee to post a legal notice on the website before January 1, 2012, and limits the fee to no more than $10 for posting notices on or after January 1, 2012 (Sec. 140).
- Specifies that the provisions of this Act do not apply to public notices published by a public body on the website established by the Division of Archives and Records Service of the Department of Administrative Services (Sec. 140).
