Title: Pre-Abortion Ultrasound Requirements

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that requires any physician intending to perform an abortion to first perform an ultrasound on the patient, provide an explanation of the results, and present the ultrasound images to the patient and review them with her.

Highlights:
-Authorizes the patient to avert her eyes from the ultrasound images (Sec. 2). -Establishes a fine of $100,000 for the first offense and $250,000 for the second or subsequent offense for physicians that fail to adhere to the requirements of this Act (Sec. 2). -Requires the court to report a violation of this provisions of this Act to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure for action and discipline as determined by the board (Sec. 2).
