Title: Voluntary Death Certificates for Miscarriages

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes women to request a certificate of early fetal death in the event of spontaneous fetal death or induced abortion prior to 20 weeks of gestation.

Highlights:
-Absolves the Bureau of Health of the Department of Health and Welfare of wrongdoing if the information on the application is inaccurate, and does not require the Bureau to investigate any early fetal death (Sec. 2). -Establishes a fee for the certificate to be determined by the director of the Bureau of Health Policy of the Department of Health and Welfare (Sec. 2). -Specifies that neither the application for the certificate or the certificate itself shall be a public record (Sec. 2).
