Title: Requiring State Contractors to Disclose Campaign Contributions

Vote to pass a bill that requires prospective contractors, prior to entering into a state contract worth $50,000 or more, to disclose all contributions in excess of $250 to a public official during the two years prior to the date the prospective contractor responds to a solicitation by a governmental body.

Highlights:
- Requires prospective contractors to disclose contributions to campaign committees controlled or affiliated with a public official and organizations that are controlled by or affiliated with a public official and from which the public official derives a direct benefit (Sec. 1). - Requires state contractors to update campaign contribution information quarterly (Sec. 1). - Requires the disclosure to include the date, amount, nature of the contribution, and the individual receiving the contribution (Sec. 1). - Requires the Department of Finance to post the disclosure statements in a searchable format on their website (Sec. 1). - This is a substitute bill sponsored by the Senate Committee on Rules.
