Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that provisionally restores the voting rights of convicted felons if they are no longer under the authority of the Department of Corrections.
Highlights:
-Authorizes the sentencing court to revoke the provisional restoration of their voting rights if the court determines that the individual has willfully failed to comply with the terms of the court order to pay legal financial obligations, and specifies that the revocation shall remain in effect until the individual has made a "good faith effort" to pay the legal financial obligations (Sec. 1). -Requires the prosecutor to seek the revocation of the provisional restoration of a convicted felon's voting rights upon request of the county clerk or restitution recipient if the individual has failed to make 3 restitution payments in a 12 month period (Sec. 1). -Requires the prosecutor and county clerk, "to the extent practicable," to notify the restitution recipient of their right to ask for the revocation of the provisional restoration of a convicted felon's voting rights (Sec. 1).
