Vote to pass a bill that abolishes township boards in counties without a consolidated city on January 1, 2013 and transfers their legislative and fiscal powers and authority to county fiscal bodies.
Highlights:
-Exempts townships that have initiated a proposed reorganization before July 1, 2009, provided that they complete that reorganization by January 1, 2017 (Sec. 1). -Prohibits a relative of a township officer or employee from being employed by the township in a position that would be directly supervisory or subordinate to the position of the officer or employee who is his or her relative (Secs. 3-4).
