Title: Increasing Traffic Fines to Fund Trauma Centers

Vote to pass a bill that increases moving traffic violation fines by $18 and deposits the revenue into the newly established Trauma Care Hospital Fund to be used to establish and maintain trauma care access in Indiana.
Highlights:
-Requires the State Department to make quarterly payments from the fund to a hospital with a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma care center depending on the number of patients that received care from the trauma center in the previous quarter (Sec. 2).
-Authorizes the State Department to consider whether there is an unmet trauma care need in specific areas of Indiana when deciding which hospital to make a payments to (Sec. 2).
-Increase the fines for the following moving traffic violations by $18 (Sec. 4):
- -Speeding violation;
-Passenger restraint violation;
-Driving while a license is suspended;
-Operating while intoxicated and endangering a person;
-Disregard for stop sign;
-Disregard of traffic signal;
-Operating while intoxicated;
-Child restraint violation;
-Disregard of traffic control device;
-Prior operating while intoxicated;
-Following too closely;
-Reckless driving;
-Unsafe lane movement;
-Yield sign violation;
-Improper turn at intersection;
-Driving left of center;
-Offense relating to controlled substances while using a motor vehicle;
-Passing in a no passing zone;
-Driving on the wrong side of the road;
-Driving the wrong way on a one-way road;
-Improper passing;
-Open container fee;
-Improper passing to the left of the center line;
-Operating a vehicle with a controlled substance;
-Operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in injury;
