Title: Extending Health Benefits to Domestic Partners of State Employees
Vote to pass a bill that requires all state employee group benefit plans that are issued or renewed on or after July 1, 2010 to extend coverage to the employee's domestic partner, meaning an adult that is at least 18 years of age, is the same gender as the employee, and with whom he or she has shared an exclusive and committed relationship for at least one year with the intent to continue the relationship indefinitely, provided that he or she is not related to the employee nor married to another person.
