Title: Expanding Mail Ballot Elections

Vote to pass a bill that repeals the prohibition on using mail ballots for regularly scheduled or special federal, state, or county elections and regularly scheduled or special elections that take place at the polls on the same day as another election in the political subdivision.

Highlights:

-Requires the governing body to hold a public hearing at least 90 days prior to and no later than 135 days before a request is made to use a mail ballot for a state or federal election (Sec. 3) -Requires the governing body to prepare a plan for the conduct of the election that must include the location of drop-off sites, including those that have specialized voting equipment to assist voters with disabilities, and identify specific efforts to increase the ability of persons to participate in the election (Sec. 4).
