Title: Increasing Income and Rent Threshold to Qualify for Rent Deregulation
Vote to pass a bill that increases the tenant income threshold from $175,000 to $240,000 and the rent threshold from $2,000 to $2,700 per month in which landlords are no longer subject to rent control laws until January 10, 2010, at which point the thresholds must be annually adjusted to reflect the change in the regional consumer price index for the New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island region.
