Title: Civil Rights for Nonviolent Felons

Vote to pass a bill that allows for restoration of civil rights immediately upon completion of sentence (including terms of probation and parole) for nonviolent felons other than those convicted of election fraud.

Highlights:

-Allows the General Assembly to provide by law for restoration of civil rights for violent felons or persons convicted of election fraud who have completed their sentences, including terms of probation or parole (Sec. 1).

NOTE: AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION REQUIRES MAJORITY APPROVAL IN EACH CHAMBER IN TWO SUCCESSIVE SESSIONS. IT MUST THEN BE APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF CITIZENS VOTING IN THE NEXT ELECTION TO BECOME ENACTED.
