Title: Expanding Homestead Property Tax Exemption
Vote to pass a bill that submits a referendum to the voters to increase the maximum homestead tax exemption from $2,000 to $3,000 of the value of the homestead for the 2011 taxable year, increases it to $4,000 of the value of the homestead for the 2012 taxable year, and requires the maximum exemption be increased by a percentage equal to the cost of living index for each subsequent taxable year thereafter.
