Title: Offering Anesthetics to Women Undergoing Abortions

Vote to pass a bill that requires physicians performing abortions on fetuses that are at least 20 weeks gestational age to inform the woman at least 24 hours prior to the procedure of any anesthetic or analgesic that could alleviate potential pain to the fetus, and any health risks associated with the use of the anesthetic or analgesic.
Highlights:
- Waves the requirements if the abortion is necessary to save the woman's life, prevent grave damage to the woman's medical health, or to prevent the birth of a child who would have been born with grave defects (Sec. 1).
- Authorizes physicians to provide their own opinions regarding the capacity of a fetus to feel pain, the use and effectiveness of administering anesthetics or analgesics to an unborn child, or any other matter related to fetal pain (Sec. 1).
- Requires the Department of Health to print brochures providing information on both sides of the issue regarding the ability of a fetus to feel pain, the use and effectiveness of anesthetics and analgesics to alleviate potential pain to the fetus, and the potential medical risks associated with anesthetics and analgesics administered to a pregnant woman (Sec. 2).
