Title: Support Horseracing Through Riverboat Casinos in Chicago
Vote to pass a bill that requires riverboat casinos that have gross receipts of more than $200 million in 2004 to pay three percent of their adjusted gross income to the Horse Racing Trust Fund, a fund administered by the Illinois Gaming Board that is separate from state money and supports horseracing facilities in Illinois. The bill stipulates that this requirement will expire two years after bill enactment. Additionally, the bill calls for an amount equal to 15 percent of the adjusted gross receipts of certain riverboat owners to be paid into the Horse Racing Equity fund from the State Gaming Fund once this bill has been enacted for two years, provided that the required payments to local governments where the riverboat docks and appropriations approved by the General Assembly have been made.
