Title: Vehicle Seizure and Driving While Intoxicated
Vote to pass a bill that allows the seizure of the vehicle of a person with two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated in the last five years, if that person commits another driving while intoxicated offense or drives with a suspended drivers license. The bill stipulates that if the driver of the vehicle is not the owner of the vehicle, the vehicle will only be seized if the owner knew the vehicle would be operated unlawfully. Additionally, the bill requires the court to recommend to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles not to register a motor vehicle in the name of a person who has had his or her car seized under this bill until that person has a current drivers license.
