Vote to pass a bill that creates a teacher training program for professionals who have a bachelor's degree in the field in which they want to teach, graduated with a 2.75 GPA or higher, passed skill and subject examinations, and have an offer of employment contingent on their participation in the program. The training program includes a nine-credit preparation course, 200 hours of instruction, on-the-job mentoring, and a one-week intensive workshop. The bill also requires the Board of Teaching to issue an entrance license to members of this program that complete a year of teaching and other requirements.
