Title: Capping Administrative Spending for Health Insurers
Vote to pass a bill that requires all full health care service plans and health insurers to spend at least 85 percent of their total premiums and other fees specifically on health care benefits for all policies issued, awarded or renewed on or after January 1, 2011.
- Requires health care providers to submit annual reports to the Department of Health to ensure that they are adhering to the requirements of this Act beginning January 1, 2011 [sec. 1 (g) & sec. 2 (g)]. - Provides that the provisions of this act do not apply to Medicare policies, other administrative services-only policies, other short-term health insurance policies, or limited health insurance policies like dental-only or vision-only [sec. 2 (k)].
