Vote to table an amendment that attempts to strengthen provisions requiring tobacco companies to meet targeted reductions in youth smoking.

Highlights:
  • Requires the Secretary to conduct annual performance surveys measuring use of cigarette and smokeless tobacco products among children ages 12 to 18.
  • Sets a 10 year child smoking reduction target at 67 percent.
  • Sets a maximum penalty of $2.2 billion for failure of tobacco companies to meet set reduction targets among children using their projects.
