Vote to pass a bill that would appropriate $19.8 billion in fiscal 2003, and $700 million in emergency supplemental spending for the Department of the Interior and related agencies, for activities including conservation, fighting wildfires, land management and others.
- $2.2 billion for fighting wildfires, including $1.51 billion allotted to the National Forest System and $655 million to the Bureau of Land Management.
- $2.4 billion for Administration of the National Park Service and for overall maintenance, operation, management and conservation of areas and facilities administered by the National Park Service, including Everglades restoration.
- $1.4 billion for National Forest System for management, protection, utilization and improvement.
- $2.3 billion for Bureau of Indian Affairs, including $1.8 billion designated for the operation of Indian programs and $345 million for the construction, maintenance or improvement of buildings, roads, farm land and other related areas.
