Title: Restrictions on Public Smoking

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits smoking in and around state government buildings.

Highlights:
-Prohibits smoking in state government buildings and within 25 feet of the entrances, open windows, or ventilation systems of such buildings (Sec. 1). -Allows local governments to restrict smoking in public places such as government buildings, schools, or public transportation (Sec. 2). -Defines "local government" as any local political subdivision of the State, any airport authority, or any authority or body created by any ordinance, joint resolution, or rules of any such entity (Sec. 2).
