Vote to pass a bill that raises the salaries of Louisiana state legislators.

Highlights:
-Sets the salary of the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate at $71,250 per year (Sec. 1). -Sets the salary of the Speaker Pro Tempore of the House and the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Senate at $54,750 per year (Sec. 1). -Sets the salaries of the chairmen of the Senate Finance Committee, the Senate Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, and the House Ways and Means Committee at $54,750 per year (Sec. 1). -Sets the salaries of all other members of the legislature at $37,500 per year (Sec. 1). -Provides that beginning July 1, 2009, and annually thereafter, legislatorsÂ’ salaries shall be adjusted by the same percentage as any increase in the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CPI-U), rounded to the nearest dollar (Sec. 1).
