Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that loosens the disclosure requirements of members of state boards and commissions regarding personal financial information.

Highlights:

- Amends the law relating to public disclosure of financial information by members of state boards and commissions to hold only those members of state boards and commissions with rule-making authority, who receive an annual salary of $16,800 or more, to the same personal financial information disclosure requirements as state legislators (Sec. 1). - Creates a new tier of disclosure reporting for other members of state boards and commissions, including members of the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, with a requirement that members must certify that neither they nor their immediate families have any personal or financial conflicts of interests that would inhibit their impartial performance as members of the board or commission (Sec. 1).
