Title: Sealing Criminal Records

Vote to pass a bill that allows persons charged of minor criminal infractions to petition to have their court records sealed if they are not charged of another crime for ten years, and prohibits the sealing of certain criminal records such as sex offenses and other serious crimes.

Highlights:
-Allows government agencies such as courts of law and law enforcement agencies to access the records sealed in accordance with this act (Sec. 2). -Allows an applicant to state on resumes and other inquires that ask about criminal backgrounds that he or she has not been convicted of criminal offenses if any records have been sealed (Sec. 2). -Requires defendants who were convicted prior to July 1, 2008 to pay all court fees including attorney fees, filing fees, and an additional two hundred dollar fee to seal their criminal records (Sec. 2).
