Vote to pass a joint resolution proposing a constitutional amendment that sets a maximum level of property taxes that counties, school districts and municipalities may levy.
- Prohibits a property tax levy of more than 1.35% of its highest taxable value (sec. 1).
NOTE: AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION REQUIRES THREE-FIFTHS APPROVAL IN EACH CHAMBER FOR PASSAGE. IT MUST THEN BE APPROVED BY SIXTY PERCENT OF CITIZENS VOTING IN THE NEXT ELECTION TO BECOME EFFECTIVE.
