Vote to pass an amendment that sets a limit on the amount awarded in attorney fees and also grants an additional bonus to the insured if their insurer denies a valid claim.
Highlights:
- Allows the insured to be awarded an additional amount of half of the proceeds already awarded and not to exceed $100,000.
- Limits attorney fees to half of the proceeds and in no case more than $40,000.
- Takes effect August 1, 2008.
