Title: Prohibiting Local Gun Ordinances

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits local governments from regulating the sale, acquisition, transfer, ownership, possession, transportation, carrying or storage of firearms.

Highlights:
- Permits counties and cities to regulate the discharge of firearms within its boundaries. Such regulations shall not apply to a person discharging a firearm in lawful defense, while engaged in lawful hunting, at a sport shooting range, or while target shooting on public land if the discharge will not endanger persons or property [sec. 2 (3-4)].
