Title: Affordable Workforce Housing

Highlights:

- Defines "workforce housing" as either (Sec. 2):

    - Housing intended and is affordable for individuals with no more than 100 percent of the median income for a four person household for the metropolitan area or county where it is located; or - Rental housing intended and is affordable for individuals with a income of no more than 60 percent of the median income for a three person household for the metropolitan area or county where it is located.
- Defines "affordable housing" as having a combined rent and utility cost or a mortgage loan that does not exceed 30 percent of the total household income (Sec. 2). - Requires municipalities to provide reasonable opportunities for the development of multi-family workforce housing (Sec. 2). - Defines "multi-family housing" as a building or structure that has 5 or more units, each designated for an individual household (Sec. 2). - Allows any person whose application to develop workforce housing is denied to appeal to the superior court on the grounds that the municipality is violating the terms of this Act by denying the application. A hearing will be held within six months of the date when the action was filed, unless counsel for both parties agrees to a later date (Sec. 2).
