Title: Motor Vehicle Trauma Care Fee

Vote to pass a bill that, if approved by the voters, imposes an annual $10 fee on each motor vehicle that is required to be licensed and registered to fund the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission.

Highlights:
- Requires the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission to distribute funds to extend air or ground ambulance services to unserved and underserved regions, train first responders, and enhancing command and communication networks [sec. 1 (2) (A-C)]. - Requires the Trauma Commission to develop a plan to divide the state into trauma regions designed to bring new treatment centers to unserved regions by no later than January 1, 2010 [sec. 1 (7)]. - Authorizes the commission to designate a tax agent to collect the trauma charge [sec. 3 (c)]. - Establishes the effective date of this Act as January 1, 2009, assuming it was ratified by the voters in the November, 2008 state-wide general election (Sec. 8). - This is a substitute bill sponsored by the Senate Finance Committee.
