Title: Prohibiting Smoking in Vehicles with Children
Vote to pass a bill that makes smoking in a motor vehicle while a person under the age of 16 is present a civil violation.
Provides that a person may still receive a fine for violating this ordinance even if the windows of the motor vehicle are open. [Sec. 1 (2)] - Provides that a violation of this ordinance is not justification for a search or inspection of the motor vehicle in which it occurred [Sec. 1 (3)]. - Provides that the penalty for a violation of this ordinance is: from September 1, 2008 until August 31, 2009, a written warning; beginning September 1, 2009, a fine of $50 [Sec. 1 (5)].
