Title: Mandatory School Physical Fitness Testing

Vote to pass a bill that requires all local school systems to conduct body mass index (BMI) testings of each student twice each school year.

Highlights:
- Requires school districts to conduct BMI tests of students twice each school year beginning with the 2008-2009 school year [sec. 2 (a) (1)]. - Establishes that the testing is confidential and the individual results may only be released to parents or guardians upon request [sec. 2 (a) (1)]. - Requires the Department of Education to post the aggregate date collected through the BMI tests and the health status of each local school system and its schools on the department's website [sec. 2 (c)]. - Requires the state board to submit annual reports to the Governor beginning July 1, 2009 [sec. 2 (d)]. - Allows the Governor to collaborate with private corporations to develop and implement programs that provide incentives to schools for attaining certain levels of health status [sec. 2 (d)]. - This is a substitute bill offered by the Senate Committee on Education and Youth.
