Vote to adopt an amendment to HB 1001 that allows townships to vote on whether they want to transfer the powers of their township assessor to the county assessor.

Highlights:
- Allows the county legislative body to hold a referendum on whether to transfer the powers of a township assessor to the county assessor, except during a year in which an election of township assessors is due to occur [Sec. 5 (g)]. - Provides that, if voters in a township choose to transfer the powers of their township assessor to the county assessor, the township assessor currently in office retains his powers until his term of office would otherwise expire [Sec. 11 (a)(2)].
