Highlights:

- Increases base pay for legislators to $20,000 from $15,000 per year beginning in 2009. - Increases the per diem for the Senate President and the Speaker of the House to $150 per day and to $50 per day for majority and minority leaders in the Senate and House during regular, extended or special sessions, and weekends. - Increases the per diem for any member of the Legislature who does not commute daily from $115 to $131. - Removes the limit on the number of days for which the Senate President and the Speaker of the House can request reimbursements for travel expenses. - Provides $60 annual raises for employees with more than one year of service. - Substitute offered by the House Committee on Finance.
