- Requires the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks to regulate deer baiting (Sec. 2).
- Requires that deer bait be placed at least 100 yards from any property boundary and be provided from above-ground covered feeders or stationary spin-cast feeders (Sec. 2).
- Amends provisions of Mississippi code related to violators of deer baiting laws, originally punishable by a fine of $500, to be classified as a Class II violation, punishable by a fine of at least $100 and not more than $500 and/or between sixty days and six months imprisonment (Sec. 2).
- This is a substitute bill sponsored by the House Committee on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, of which the original text was replaced by an amendment introduced by the Senate Committee on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, of which the amended text was then replaced by an amendment introduced by Senator Gollott.
