Vote to adopt a conference report appropriating funds for the State Judiciary for fiscal year 2007-2008.

Highlights:
-$259.3 million in state and federal funds to the Judiciary (Sec. 101). -$41 million to the Supreme Court (Sec . 102). -$19.2 million to the Court of Appeals (Sec. 103). -$94.8 million for justices' and judges' compensation (Sec. 105). -$71.9 million for trial court operations (Sec. 109). -Prohibits the use of appropriated funds for the purchase of foreign goods or services if competitively priced American goods of comparable quality are available. Gives preference to Michigan businesses, especially those owned or operated by veterans, if their goods and services are competitively priced and of comparable quality (Sec. 214). -Restricts the use of appropriated funds for the use of out of state travel expenses for judicial branch employees (Sec. 215). -$4.7 million for drug treatment courts, which shall be responsible for handling cases involving substance abusing nonviolent offenders (Secs. 102 & 311). -Prohibits the use of appropriated funds for the permanent assignment of state-owned vehicles to judicial branch employees (Sec. 317).
