Vote to adopt an amendment that lowers federal spending by $90.4 billion over the next 5 years through reductions of $34.2 billion in Medicare appropriations, reductions of $52.5 billion in discretionary spending, the reduction of the federal workforce by 252,000 positions, and reductions in fiscal year 1994 appropriations. This amendment would also establish a Cabinet-level Department of Science, Space, Energy, and Technology.
