Title: Agricultural Pollution

Vote to pass a bill regulating agricultural pollution.

Highlights:

- Prohibits the discharge of any substance into the waters of the state of Michigan that may be hazardous or harmful to its people, environment or animals (sec. 3109). - Requires certain animal feeding operations (AFOs) and large concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) to obtain water discharge permits and creates requirements for the operations (sec. 3113B). - Creates the Pathogen Reduction Advisory Council to review scientific information, study conservation methods and recommend actions in pathogen reductions (sec. 3113C). - Establishes the Michigan Agriculture Environment Assurance Program within the Department of Agriculture to assist farms in risk assessment, pollution reduction and livestock operations (sec. 8202). - Requires the passage of SB 447, SB 448 and SB 503 to become law (enacting sec. 1).
