Title: Regulating Automated Phone Calls

Highlights:

- Establishes that a caller may not use an automated dialing and announcing device unless the device is designed to disconnect within 10 seconds after the receiver terminates the call (sec. 2(1)). - Prohibits automated calls to emergency agencies, medical centers, or numbers on the “Do not call" list (sec. 2(2)). - Allows automated calls only between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. (sec. 2(4)). - Prohibits the caller from intentionally altering or falsifying information (sec. 3(2)). - Fines violators up to $5,000 (sec. 4).
