Title: English as the Common Language
Vote to adopt an amendment that declares English to be the common language of the United States.
- Establishes English as the common language of the United States and provides that the Government of the United States will preserve and enhance that role (Sec. 702A).
- Clarifies that nothing in the act can be used to diminish or expand any existing rights relative to non-English services or materials provided by the government (Sec. 702A).
