Title: State Job Retention

Vote to pass a bill that attempts to limit Connecticut state contracts from being fulfilled outside of Connecticut or outside of the United States.

Highlights:
- Requires the Governor to review all state contracts and prepare for publication a list of all which involve services being performed outside of Connecticut or outside of the United States (Sec. 1). - Establishes a task force that will determine the reasons state contracts are being fulfilled outside of Connecticut or outside of the United States and report its findings and recommendations to the state legislature (Sec. 2). - Requires that firms applying for a state contract provide information regarding any services they anticipate performing outside of Connecticut or outside of the United States, and that the economic impact on Connecticut and on the United States be considered by the state in its award of the contract (Sec. 3). - Establishes an office that will assist firms operating in Connecticut in protecting themselves “from unfair and illegal competition” by foreign businesses (Sec. 4).
