Vote to pass a bill reinstating the death penalty for the murder of police officers.
Highlights:
- Requires that a person not sentenced to death for the intentional murder of a police officer, peace officer or employee of the Department of Correctional Services be sentenced to life in prison without parole (§ 2). - Allows a person convicted of the intentional murder of police officer, peace officer, or employee of the Department of Correctional Services to be given the death penalty (§ 4).
