Vote to pass a bill that provides a new formula for calculating average school membership to determine state funding.

Highlights:

- Provides for a weighted system of measuring average daily membership with additional weight given to students who may cost more to educate, such as special needs students, non-English speakers, and summer school students (sec. 7). - Provides weighted averages of students for smaller schools, granting weighting factors from 1.25 to schools with less than 185 students to 1.01 for schools with less than 900 students (sec. 8). - Increases per student funding for the 2007-2008 fiscal year from $2,765 to $3,042 and from $2,879 to $3,140 for the 2008-2009 fiscal year (sec. 9).
