- Prohibits smoking in public places, places of employment, governmental vehicles, or within 15 feet of an entrance, exit, windows and ventilation intakes that service enclosed non-smoking areas [(sec.15) (sec. 70)]. - Requires that ashtrays be removed and that “No Smoking” signs or the international “No Smoking” symbol be posted in each public place or place of employment where smoking is prohibited and at every entrance [sec. 20 (a-c)] - Allows smoking in private residences that are not used as child care, adult day care or healthcare facilities, private or semi-private rooms in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, hotel and motel sleeping rooms that are designated as smoking rooms and retail tobacco stores [sec. 35 (1-4)]. - Requires that any violators of this act shall be fined not less than $100 but no more than $250. A Business that violates this act will be fined not less than $250 for the first violation, not less than $500 for the second violation and not less than $2,500 for each additional violation [sec. 45 (a-b)].
