Title: Child Credit Preservation and Expansion Act of 2004
Vote to pass a bill that would make the $1000 child tax credit permanent and amend a number of its provisions.
- Increases the maximum income an individual or couple could earn before losing coverage under the provisions of this act, as follows: $250,000 for couples filing a joint return; $125,000 for individuals (Sec. 2).
- Allows military personnel to take into account their combat pay when calculating their eligibility (Sec. 2).
- Provides that individuals who do not pay income tax are still eligible to receive the credit (Sec. 2).
