Title: Medicare Part D Amendment
Vote on a motion to waive the Budget Act in order to adopt an amendment that expands the 6-month enrollment period for the Prescription Drug Benefit Program to the entire year of 2006 and allows beneficiaries, to change plans once in that year when they make a mistake without penalty after enrollment.
- Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to fully reimburse pharmacies, States and individuals for cost in 2006 for covered part D drugs.
NOTE: A MOTION TO WAIVE THE BUDGET ACT, IF ADOPTED, TEMPORARILY SETS ASIDE A SPECIFIC PROVISION OF THE BUDGET ACT OF 1974 SO THAT AN AMENDMENT THAT VIOLATES THE ACT MAY BE CONSIDERED. A 3/5 MAJORITY IS REQUIRED FOR ADOPTION.
