Title: Pay As You Go Amendment

Vote on a motion to waive the Budget Act in order to adopt an amendment that requires pay-as-you-go for any legislation that increases or reduces the on-budget total.

Highlights:
-Requires that any legislation that creates an increase or decrease in the on-budget total must first waive or suspend the provisions of this amendment by a three-fifths vote of the Senate.
Note:

NOTE: A MOTION TO WAIVE THE BUDGET ACT, IF ADOPTED, TEMPORARILY SETS ASIDE A SPECIFIC PROVISION OF THE BUDGET ACT OF 1974 SO THAT AN AMENDMENT THAT VIOLATES THE ACT MAY BE CONSIDERED. A 3/5 MAJORITY IS REQUIRED FOR ADOPTION.
