Title: Iraq Progress Reports Amendment
Vote to adopt an amendment that requires the President to report to Congress every three months on the U.S. policy and military operations in Iraq until the last U.S. combat brigade returns to the U.S.
- Expresses the sense of the Senate that 2006 should be "a period of significant transition to full Iraqi sovereignty" and this should create the conditions for the redeployment of forces from Iraq.
- Expresses the sense of the Senate that the Presidential Administration needs to explain a strategy for "successful completion of the mission in Iraq".
- Expresses the sense of the Senate that "United States military forces should not stay in Iraq any longer than required and people of Iraq should be so advised".
