Title: Substitute Amendment to Unborn Victims of Violence Act
Vote to adopt a substitute amendment that establishes a federal criminal offense for an individual whose assault on a pregnant woman interrupts or terminates the pregnancy.
- Calls for a fine and/or prison term of up to 20 years if the assault resulted in injury to the fetus.
- Calls for a fine and/or prison term up to a life sentence if the assault terminated the pregnancy.
