Title: Military Closure Amendment
Vote to adopt an amendment that places additional restrictions on the Department of Defense's closure of military bases and realignment of personnel of the Armed Forces without Congressional approval.
- Prohibits base closures within 4 years after realignment.
- Expresses the sense of Congress that all actions authorized by the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 should be completed before further rounds of base closures and realignments occur.
- Requires the Department of Defense to submit a report analyzing the effects of base closures and realignments on the ability of the Armed Forces to remobilize, describing military projects needed for such remobilization, and discussing the assets that would be difficult to reacquire when remobilization occurs.
