Title: Family Planning Parental Notification Amendment
Vote to adopt a substitute amendment that requires federally funded family planning providers to certify that family participation is encouraged when minors seek family planning services, and that counseling is provided on how to resist coercive sexual activities.
- Encourages parental participation in family planning services for minors, as opposed to the Istook amendment which required health clinics to give parents or guardians of underage children written notice 5 business days before providing contraceptive drugs or devices to the child.
