Title: National Uniformity for Food Act

Vote to pass a bill allowing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to establish national food safety warning standards.
Highlights:
Requires states to follow all FDA food warning standards 180 days after the bill becomes law (Sec. 2).
Allows states to petition for an exemption or to create a national food warning standard (Sec. 2).
Allows states to establish an "imminent hazard to health" notification requirement on food products, if the product may have serious health effects or death (Sec. 2).
Declares that states may still impose regulations and notices dealing with mercury content in fish and shellfish (Sec. 4).
